Update - September 8th at 9:30 a.m.

There's a new post on Bennett's site, so please read it by clicking the link at the top of the right column.

It seems that Bennett had a less stable night last night. Although the doctors and nurses have prepared Travis and Kelly for the ups and downs, I'm sure it's not easy to live through them.

So, let's pray today that Bennett's condition stabilizes and that his lungs and heart improve toward normal functioning. I know that Travis and Kelly have been focusing on getting through one day at a time, so let's pray that they have the emotional strength to get through the next 24 hours.

Since things have been less stable, we need to encourage them today by letting them know they are being prayed for. So, please use the prayer pager often today. As a reminder, the instructions are in the column to the right.

I'll be back with more updates when I have them!

Erica,
Great job on the photo book I think this was a fabulous idea.

Dear Lord,

We pray for good news this morning LORD from Georgetown.Thankyou that Bennett had such a good day yesterday. Thankyou for answering our prayers in this way. We believe that you had everything to do with getting him off of ECMO and more on towards an independent life. We believe that you are watching over and guiding every step that the doctors and nurses do. Nothing in this world can happen without your ultimate approval and we believe that you intervene at the request of your people. And so by faith we thankyou for all that has happened over these past few days to keep Bennett alive and growing stronger.

LORD we thankyou for the avenue of prayer and we thankyou for how it teaches us to rely and trust on you but we also pray that you see how difficult this waiting is for all of us and especially for Kelly and Travis. Every morning not knowing exactly what we're going to read or hear. Please end all of this expectant waiting and give Travis and Kelly a healthy boy to take home. Please let this be the week that they get to take him home and start getting to know this beautiful "Masterpiece" that you've created and given to them. Please let the roller coaster stop and the tightrope come to a happy ending. We know that you can make it happen and we know that you love us so much. However, as always, we pray as your amazing son has taught us --not our will but yours be done in all situations, but especially in this.

We pray once again very specifically that you continue to heal Bennett's lungs completely. That you absorb this uncomfortable fluid/substance that is keeping his lungs from expanding fully. Please help his lungs to drain completely and let everyone be amazed even once again by how amazing and interestingly you interevene and heal your people.
Once again we know that you can do this today and ask in Jesus name for this to be done. Please. Continue to guide the doctor's as they chose what medications to give this child and what treatments he will receive. Please arrange the NICU in such a way as to give peace to little Baby Bennett and to all of the worker's and families that are there. We know that nothing can substitute for the Lord's presence in a time like this. Please let everyone in the NICU willing to notice see that the Prince of Peace is present. Please comfort Kelly and Travis with all that you've done and with the knowledge of all that you will do on this earth and in eternity.

We love you Lord and continue to beg for the complete healing of Bennett Speck.
In Jesus Name.
