Hello everyone! I'm sorry again for being out-of-pocket during the last few hours. Matt and I were out of town for the day without access to the Internet.
I just got off the phone with Travis, so I wanted to give you the latest update I have. As Travis said in his post at 4 p.m. (if you haven't read it, you'll want to click on "Bennett's Site" at the top of the right column), Bennett's lungs are still the area of most concern. The infection is still hampering his lungs from working correctly, so the heart/lung bypass machine is working at maximum capacity. That's not a good thing. Doctors and nurses want to be able to scale back the assistance that Bennett is receiving from the machine, but right now, they're not able to do so. So, let's pray fervently for Bennett's little lungs.
Travis and Kelly are holding up well. He told me tonight that our prayers, pages, and comments are literally sustaining them right now. So, please know that your support in prayer and in writing comments is truly helping Travis and Kelly through this hour by hour and day by day.
Travis is returning to work tomorrow. He's going to see how it goes this week. Travis' dad flew back to Nashville today, but his mom will stay through Friday. Kelly will be going back and forth this week from the hospital to their house. As you probably know, Kelly's mom and dad are in the area. Since Travis and Kelly will only be able to spend a few hours together with Bennett at the hospital each night, and since Bennett's condition is still serious, Travis requested that we continue through Friday the policy of no visitors except for those taking food. I know that we all want to go and show our in-person support, but the best way we can support Travis and Kelly during this time is by praying, paging, and continuing to send comments their way.
Thank you to all those who have participated or will participate in the 24-hour prayer vigil today, either by signing up and praying during a 30-minute period or just by praying for Travis and Kelly. Travis said that words couldn't describe how they felt when they heard about the prayer vigil. He said they were blown away by it.
As thankful as Travis and Kelly are that Bennett's condition has been stable during the past few days, Travis reminded me tonight that good days and bad days are to be expected in the NICU. As the day ends and a new week starts, let's renew our determination to lift Travis and Kelly up in prayer. And...don't forget to page them after you do it! The instructions are in the right column.
I'll be back with more updates when I have them.

Travis, Kelly and Bennett, Please know prayers are going up to our Father every day for you all. Wish we could be there to give you all big hugs.
I recieved an email through Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ about Bennett today and just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers. Jonathan and I will have a son any day. I am also a labor and delivery nurse at North Austin Medical Center. May God draw you both ever closer to Him and to each other during this time.
