Update - August 21st at 9:50 p.m.

Thanks so much for the prayers and comments. We saw Travis tonight at the hospital, and when I gave him the comments that have been posted to this blog and to Bennett's site, I can't explain how touched both he and Cilla (his mom) were. Your words and thoughts mean so much to them. He told me he would read them over and over. Cilla said that they would mean a lot to Kelly and her family as well. Please keep posting messages. I will continue printing them out and taking them to the hospital as necessary.

Speaking of Kelly, she is doing as well as can be expected. She is now at Georgetown, and I am happy to report that she was able to go down to the NICU and see Bennett today. Cilla said that Kelly's condition almost instantly improved when she arrived at Georgetown, because she was so relieved to be with Travis and Bennett. According to Travis, Kelly is still on track to be released on Thursday or Friday of this week. It would be best if she could rest and not have visitors at this time.

Now, for Little Bennett. He desperately needs our prayers right now. I believe Travis is going to update his site late tonight/early tomorrow morning with more detailed medical information, but I'll give you what we learned tonight.

Bennett's main issues are his heart and his lungs. He has pulmonary hypertension, which is causing blood to be "shunted" away from his lungs. What this means is that blood doesn't pass through his lungs like it should, and thus, it doesn't get receive oxygen. So, when that blood travels to other parts of Bennett's body, it doesn't nourish those parts with oxygen like it should.

Because of the pulmonary hypertension, little Bennett's breathing is very labored. They have him on a ventilator right now, and he is still heavily sedated, because they don't want his body to do any work. They want it to rest so that he has a better chance of fighting his infections. He does still have pneumonia and a couple of infections, but those are actually not the most serious issues right now.

So, the bottom line is that we should continue to pray fervently. Pray for God's healing of little Bennett's body, pray for God's continued healing of Kelly, and pray for strength and comfort for Travis, Kelly, and the rest of their families as they go through this ordeal.

Travis and Kelly will receive the prayer pager tomorrow morning. For the dozens and dozens of you who paged them today, your pages didn't go to waste. I delivered two separate reports to Travis tonight from FXCC staffers who had the pager today. Based on those reports, the pagers went off today at an average rate of once every two minutes, and at one point, it went off for 7 straight seconds (meaning lots of people paged at once). Just hearing that report touched both Travis and Cilla, and I'm sure it will mean a lot to Kelly too. Travis couldn't wait to get the prayer pager tomorrow, so PLEASE keep the prayers and pages coming throughout the week.

I'll let you all know when Travis' site has been updated so you can read the latest information. I'll also let you know when I have further updates. Thanks, and keep praying!
