This blog was created to keep you updated on Baby Bennett as well as Travis and Kelly. Bennett was born on August 20 at 9:23 a.m. weighing 7 lbs. 6 oz. and measuring 19 1/2 inches long.
Bennett was born via emergency C-section, because there were complications related to an infection in his body. Shortly after his birth, Bennett was transported to Georgetown Hospital's NICU. As of earlier today, the doctor had diagnosed Bennett with acidosis. There was an earlier diagnosis of sepsis, but that is unconfirmed at this time. In either case, these are both serious, systemic infections. The doctor has told Travis that the acidosis is affecting Bennett's nervous system, and Travis has witnessed that Bennett is very labored in his breathing. At present, the prognosis is unknown, but Travis said that Bennett will be in the NICU for at least 10 days.
As of 2 p.m. this afternoon, Kelly was still at Sibley. They were hesitant to transfer her to Georgetown since her doctor is at Sibley. Kelly's mom and aunt are with her. Unless transferred to Georgetown, Kelly will stay at Sibley for four days.
I asked Travis what they need, and he said that he would just like everyone to get down on their knees and pray. So, please pray for baby Bennett's health, Kelly's health, and Travis as he lives through this with Bennett at once place and Kelly at the other. Ask that God be with them in a mighty way and that Bennett be healed of his infections. Pray boldly.
Verse for the moment: "Summon your power, O God; show us your strength, O God, as you have done before." -Psalm 68:28

We are all praying for you three very hard. I can't imagine how scary this is for you, so I will pray constantly. We're here for you in any way you need us.
My name is Sadricia Wilson and I attend Magnolia Church of Christ in Florence,AL. Rest assured I have already approached God's throne in prayer for baby Bennett. It is Wednesday evening, and at 6:30 pm, I will add your prayer request to the list that our ladies will be laying before God, as we do each week in class. We believe in miracles, so keep the faith and know that God is good, and listening to all who
call on him. In His love.....
Kelley and Travis,
Brad and I are praying for you and for Bennett at this time. You are in our thoughts often during the day and everytime I think of you I lift Bennet up to God in prayer. May our Father in Heaven bless and sustain both of you during this trial and bring your precious son through this to better health.
Much love in Christ,
Kathy and Brad Forrest
